Inflammation of the internal organs of the baby is also possible when it is exposed to cold and the true source of the disease will not even be suspected. However, you must not resort to stuffing the cot with a lot of clothes and the drapery of the cot near the countenance of the baby. You must keep the baby warm with pure air which must reach the mouth of the baby. The room ambience must be warm enough to enable proper breathing of the child.
Use feather bed for the first two years after birth. Buy a horsehair pillow six months after birth as teething begins for the baby. The head of the baby should be cool at this point of time. And when it comes to the childhood, allow the child to sleep an hour or two prior to dinner. This may be discontinued after sometime. However, more of sleep is required in childhood than when you are an adult.
Put the baby to rest between seven and eight in the evening every day. If the baby is in proper health, it will go on sleeping till the next morning. There are no fixed rules to be laid down when it comes to the number of hours a baby must sleep. Each and every baby and their habits might be different from each other. Regularity also is a part of things to be attained as far as the baby’s sleep is concerned.
At some level and age, people are hesitant to sleep at least for about four to five hours. A mother must not derange a child’s health due to her vanity. In view of an evening party to be attended, babies are kept up from sleep for about hours before going on to sleep for the baby as usually done so far. The natural constitution of sleep is affected by this very negligence which will lead to compromise in the overall health of the baby.
The baby must look cheerful when it awakens in the morning and mother’s care will do a lot of good for the baby.
